8th Annual Woodlawn Cemetery Día de los Muertos Celebration

11am - 4 pm

Location: Woodlawn Cemetery, 14th St/ Pico Blvd

This family-friendly event celebrates the cycle of life and the remembrance of ancestors with altars, musicians, dancers, craft workshops and food trucks. For its 8th year, the event will feature a new format that was informed by a multi-year community engagement project. The festivities will spill out onto Delaware Avenue which will be closed to traffic and connects directly to the Cemetery, allowing designated areas for the sacred and secular activities of this celebration. Diverse perspectives and representations of Día de los Muertos will also be represented with local and regional artists, vendors and community members participating as performers, craft vendors or altar makers. Everyone is invited to participate and explore the meaning and variety of ways in which this special day is celebrated.  Free.

Interested in performing, craft vending or altar making?  Dealine extended to Friday 10/4:  For more info + to apply:  https://www.santamonica.gov/arts/dia?fbclid=IwAR1bKZmtZ9HLjKPm1L9FnH0xSSZdfz1n9u_r0pinLWv03GdjDYYla6LUbUA
