The Pico Improvement Organization held its first ever Pico Fitness Crawl event on Saturday, October 10, 2016. Seventeen fitness businesses along Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, spanning from the beach to the city’s eastern border, offered 10-minute workouts throughout the morning to participants. About 60 people signed up for the event and either walked, ran, or biked from station to station. Fun was had by all!

SMDP: To the now famous phrase, eat, pray, love, we should also add ‘give’ and ‘shop.’ Residents of Santa Monica can join in these efforts all to the mutual benefit of the entire community on Oct. 15, for the 3rd Annual Buy Local Give Local Week. The event kicks off with a day focused on local restaurants with the inaugural Eat2Give charity fundraiser on Saturday, October 15. Eat2Give will connect the Santa Monica community with over 24 local charities and 32 Santa Monica food and beverage venues to create a delicious and philanthropic experience. Customers do good while dining and businesses give back to local nonprofits – it’s a win-win.

SM Daily Press: Looking for a way to attract more customers to Santa Monica’s Pico Blvd., the Pico Improvement Organization needed an idea that would get people to explore the entire boulevard, from the 10 Freeway to the beach. Since Pico Blvd. is too spread out for a pub crawl or street fair, the PIO decided to produce LA’s first “Fitness Crawl.”
Sixteen fitness businesses along 2.5 miles of Santa Monica’s Pico Blvd. will hold 10-minute workouts, every 20 minutes on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8 – 11 a.m. Crawlers will run, jog or walk from workout-to-workout, which includes traditional favorites, like CrossFit, Zumba, Pilates, Gyrotonic, yoga, and karate and “totally LA” workouts (Read more) > > >
SM Mirror: The annual Buy Local Health and Fitness Festival returns to Santa Monica Saturday, September 10, from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center Surface Area.
