Part of a weekend celebration of Buy Local and all our great local businesses!   The event is also part of Santa Monica Sustainability Month...we have a lot to celebrate!

It’s a great opportunity to raise your business’ visibility and celebrate your commitment to the community.  In addition to taking over Third Street Promenade with booths, activities, music and food, we are also encouraging each Santa Monica business district to put on a party over the weekend (e.g. Locals Night Out on Friday 20th, Buy Local Sidewalk Sale Sunday or a Buy Local Shopping Spree on Sunday 22nd…or even another scavenger hunt). 

Organized by the SM Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Buy Local SM Committee, the City of Santa Monica, Downtown SM Inc., Santa Monica Malibu Education Foundation and participating local businesses!

The Cultural Affairs Division, the Office of Sustainability and the Environment (OSE) and Community Arts Resources (CARS), the producer, are pleased to invite you to submit an application to participate in this year’s event. With an ever-expanding profile in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, we predict between 9,000 and 15,000 participants at this free, all-day event.  We are celebrating 22 years of the Santa Monica Festival and will continue to communicate the Festival’s mission – honoring the cultural richness of Santa Monica as well as the environmental resources that sustain it.   Participating Santa Monica businesses will be highlighted as "BUY LOCAL"in the SM Festival Marketplace area.  Festival booth early bird special:  $250 (by Feb 15^th, $300 thereafter).  For more info + to download the SM Festival application:  www.smgov.net/festival.  For our small local businesses, if you're interested in sharing a booth ($125) , please indicate this on your application form.

Location:  The Market at Santa Monica Place

In honor of it's two year anniversary, The Market is launching a new monthly event called “Good Food Fridays" starting on Friday, May 31st and continuing thru the last Friday of every month.  With warm summer months quickly approaching, this locals-only, family-friendly affair will allow guests to mix and mingle with local purveyors and enjoy freshly made food and baked goods, and an exclusive array of wines, smoothies, coffees and other tasty beverages.

Festivities will include local live music and artists, screen-printing, cooking demonstrations, food sampling and tastings. Guests will also enjoy 10% off all purchases from the purveyors in The Market, excluding alcohol, from 7 p.m.–10 p.m.  Partners include Buy Local SM Committee, the SM Chamber of Commerce, KCRW, LA Weekly, SM Mirror and Edible Westside.  If you haven't checked out The Market yet, now's a great time to come and see what we're all about and meet some great, local businesses!
