Buying local truly makes a difference.

It's simple to participate - pick three businesses you absolutely can't live without, and commit to stopping by, saying hello and spending money among the three this month to spur our local economy.  Then, go even further to support your favorites by telling us which ones you picked and why

Well worth the wait

Santa Monica Business #1: Box N Burn

Santa Monica Business #2: Bay Cities

Santa Monica Business #3: The Slice

Why I can't live without these three businesses: These three businesses are very important to me because I use them often and am always happy with the service. I go to Box N Burn Santa Monica almost every morning to get a work out before school, and I love the trainers that I work with there. Bay Cities is easily my favorite sandwich place in town. Whenever I have someone visiting from out of town, I ALWAYS make sure to take them to Bay Cities. Although it takes a long time to get your food, it is well worth the wait. The Slice is located right down the street from where I live. I always like to go there when I need a quick, cheap bite to eat.

After I got out of practice

Santa Monica Business #1: Sunny Blue

Santa Monica Business #2: Bob’s Market

Santa Monica Business #3: Main Squeeze

Why I can't live without these three businesses: I can't live without Main Squeeze because to me it's better then Jamba Juice. I love how fresh and refreshing they are. Sunny Blue is by far the best sushi restaurant you could ever go to, and if they closed, I wouldnt know what to do. The taste of the sushi just leaves your mouth watering. I love Bob's Market because it's where my dad would love to go after I got out of practice.

Visiting businesses on Montana

Santa Monica Business #1: Whole Foods Market Santa Monica

Santa Monica Business #2: Healthy Spot

Santa Monica Business #3: Kreation Kafe

Why I can't live without these three businesses: There are several reasons why I can't live without these three local businesses.

First of all, I buy all my local groceries from Whole Foods on 23rd and Wilshire. Every Sunday, my mom and I get all our groceries for the week from there. It's conveniently located close to my house, so I can walk there anytime. Also, I like all the organic and local food options.

Secondly, I cannot live without Healthy Spot on 11th and Wilshire. I buy all my dog's food, treats, and toys from there, and I have been taking her here for all her baths since she was a puppy. I thank this place for why my dog is such a happy and healthy dog.

Lastly, Kreation Kafe on 11th and Montana is my favorite restaurant and juice bar. I go there almost everyday for a juice or food to-go. The staff is very friendly, the juice is really good, and all the food is locally grown and organic.

Great deals and selections

Santa Monica Business #1: Crossroads Trading Co.

Santa Monica Business #2: Buffalo Exchange

Santa Monica Business #3: Bay Cities

Why I can't live without these three businesses: Crossroads Trading Company offers great deals on shoes, clothes, and accessories at great prices. The people who work there are very helpful looking for what you need in your size and your preference, etc. If I ever need to find anything cool or vintage, I would definitely go there.

Buffalo Exchange is similar to Crossroads. They offer great clothing selections at great prices. Their location is convenient since it is close to Santa Monica High School, so that you can shop and destress after a long day of school. Stores like Buffalo Exchange are important because they provide the luxuries that people need at affordable pirces.

Bay Cities honestly has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Whenever I go to work on Sunday's, I always order myself a Bay Cities sandwich to fuel up. Their food is not only delicious, but it is super healthy. They have an array of cheeses, meats, and vegetables that are important to people's nutritional needs. It is definitely important to have a local deli where people can eat healthy food at good prices.

The community would not be the same

Santa Monica Business #1: Donut King

Santa Monica Business #2: L&L Hawaiian Place

Santa Monica Business #3: El Pollo Loco

Why I can't live without these three businesses: Without all these, every week things that I eat during lunch or after school, the community that I live in would not be in a way it is now. Going from three different varieties of food to something I can rely on for superb customer service to the eccentric people that choose the same place as I do that day, the community would not be the same.

Good memories

Santa Monica Business #1: The Bowling Alley

Santa Monica Business #2: Yum Yum Donuts

Santa Monica Business #3: Chipotle

Why I can't live without these three businesses: These businesses have brought me good memories. As a kid, I would go to Yum Yum Donuts before I would go to school some mornings. I love going to The Bowling Alley with my friends and just spend the time trying so hard to beat them at the game. Chipotle is my favorite restaurant to go to at the promenade. It's the place for me to go after school with my friends and enjoy one of their bowls. Without these places, I wouldn't have created memories at these places. I can still continue with making more later in the future.
