Why we can't live without these three businesses: Huckleberry: Huckleberry is a restaurant I love going to; I try convincing my family to go there every time we go out for lunch. The restaurant itself has a homey feel, and is very casual. Its casualness makes it a great place for families with children, because parents don’t have to worry about children running around or being loud, while still being able to enjoy a great meal. The majority of the food is either some sort of sandwich or salad, all made with the freshest ingredients. Holy Guacamole: Holy Guacamole on Main Street is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Santa Monica. It is in a tiny space on Main Street, but because it is so small the smells from the kitchen carry right into the seating area creating a great environment. The food has the perfect amount of spice for me, and always comes loaded with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The 2 am weekend closing time is also quite nice if you’re in the mood for a late night meal. Swingers: My other common late night food stop is Swingers Diner. The place somehow seems to always be crowded, loud, and lively. I usually don’t look at the menu because all I ever want is the grilled cheese sandwich. Although it is a very standard grilled cheese for some reason it always hits the spot. Swingers has both great food and a great environment full of friendly people..
